What to Know About Me
Section titled “What to Know About Me”Like most zoomers, my introduction to software development was scratch.mit.edu. I hit my stride in 7th grade when one of my games reached #2 on the site. I quickly moved on more pressing matters - “Operation Emulation” was a webapp that let us emulate Nintendo games on our school Chromebooks, while looking like Google docs to teachers. Being “The Patron Saint of Unblocked Gaming” is a heavy cape to wear. Still, I’ve managed to make a few other things along the way
I’m a Bay Area native, and feel incredibly fortunate to grow up in such an exciting place to experience innovation. After graduating high school, I spent three years working in downtown SF as a finish carpenter; installing cabinets, running baseboard, offloading the truck at 3:30am. I built nap rooms at OpenAI when Elon Musk still had an office there. Still chasing that proximity to the frontier.
AI has played a pivotal part in my journey. It’s helped me self-study my way from near-flunking 10th grade algebra to getting straight A’s studying Data Science and Applied Math at UC Berkeley. I now spend almost as much time messing with LLMs as 13 year old me spent installing Minecraft mods and trying to partition my thinkpad to boot archlinux (this is why you give your kids MacBooks…)
I’m drawn to problems big enough to justify all the trees and tokens I’ve burned getting here. Each project I’ve taken on, from building an ADU with my best friend’s family at 18 to consolidating 20 years of millwork data for my dad’s shop to shipping agents in enterprise, has taught me something new and pointed me toward what’s next. If you’re interested in working together, I’d love to hear from you.
Currently, I’m thinking alot about Youlab - an AI-powered essay coaching service that uses memory and theory-of-mind to help students figure out what they actually want to say.
